About me, Wayne Armstrong,

AND my scenic motorbike rides in and around the Western Cape.

On the other pages of this web site, I share my experiences and pictures of the routes I have taken my motorbike on. Adding tips here and there on where to stay over for a night, where to stop for a stretch, where to hang out or eat, what to buy where; and why, etc.

I am just a guy with a day job, a family, and an insatiable passion for scenic motorbike rides. "So why have a web site?" you might ask.

Well, it is the perfect place to hide my virtual library of photos, experiences and tips, and links to great sites - apart from being a live "Wayne Armstrong" profile . Like a personal e-card. One I can share with all my friends, family and acquaintances.

What the heck! I'm having fun doing it - almost as much fun as the motorbike rides themselves.!

My new bike is a Kawasaki ZX14. Nicknamed "The Beast". What a bike!! It's a performance bike. The bike has two Brothers performance pipes fitted and a sport touring screen, and a few other odds and ends. She is just so amazing to ride.

Hope you enjoy looking through my web pages. If you have something to say you can click on Contact Me and complete & submit the short form. Thanks!

My previous bike (above) was a modified Suzuki SV1000 Silver. I loved her!!! She was kitted-out with an eliminator kit, a hugger, Leo Vince pipes, and MRA screen. A real eye catcher. See for yourself... She was great on the open road & fairly comfortable too.

My Chavonne loves to ride with me. We get to spend more time being really close. You know what I mean...!?

I have been biking since the age of 15. I was fortunate enough to start riding on a Kawasaki KX80. My best friend's Dad let me ride the bike. I was hooked. I was really keen on getting my own bike, so I started working and at the age of 16 - after lots of hard work I had enough money to buy myself a 2nd hand Yamaha RZ50. It was a 1983 model and cost me R950.

I rode the bike until I left school. Just before I had to go to the Navy, I sold that bike and bought a Honda CB400. My CB400 stayed at home and while at the Navy I bought myself a 2nd hand Honda XR200R. This was a thumper of note. Let me tell you, if you did not kick the kickstarter properly, she would kick you oh so nicely on your shin.!

I then sold both bikes and bought myself a mint condition 1983 Yamaha RD350. This was a demon of a bike in its day, but gee was the handling horrible!

I then sold the RD and bought a Honda VFR400. This was nice bike, but far too small for me.

While I had the VFR, I also bought myself a Honda CR125. What fun this was.!! Some mates and I would go off road riding every weekend and in-between that we would go on a breakfast run. We had a lot of sports doing that.

Then I sold both bikes and bought myself the SV1000. I bought the bike in 2005 and have really loved every minute with her.
