The owners of the Drummond Arms Restaurant in Rooi Els welcome bikers and have done so for years. As you get there, still trying to take your helmet off, they bring you an "Old Brown Sherry", just to warm your bones. There's ample parking for all the motorbikes / motorcycles too.

Rooi Els is the first village to be explored along the stretch of coastline through to Pringle Bay, Betty's Bay and Kleinmond. These four towns are commonly known as the Hangklip - Kleinmond area.

You might get lucky enough to see the whales frolic in the water. Maybe even to swim with dolphins - so pack your swim suit. The beach at Rooi Els is safe for swimming and on a clear day has great views across False Bay towards Cape Point.
There are also many rock pools in the area. You can dive for crayfish and other shell fish species or fish from the rocks. This is a favourite angling and shellfish diving spot, with a rich variety of sea plants along its coast.
But if birds are your thing - the feathered kind - there are plenty of those around too.
Then there are the Chacma baboons. They are often found simply sitting in the road so keep your eyes peeled. Keep on riding though. These critters can be nosey and oh too "friendly".!
